New Exhibit Brightens Up Chester Zoo
A new exhibit has provided Chester Zoo with a splash of colour despite the January gloom. The zoo's new Butterfly Journey exhibit is now home to over 500 colourful butterflies from over 30 species.
Butterfly Journey is the largest zoo-based butterfly house in the UK and includes a stream, footbridge and butterfly-friendly plants including lavender, hebes and daisies among others. Visitors will also be able to see the butterflies emerging from their pupae in the exhibit's emerging case.
A book has also been produced to coincide with the opening of the exhibit. What am I? asked butterfly? is aimed at children aged three to six and tells the tale of a confused butterfly as he sets out on a quest to establish what he is.
